Beyond Bits :: Lamunu Agness
We are thrilled to introduce you to Lamunu Agness, one of our first 31 Bits graduates. Agness is a 24-year-old, fun, energetic, and rambunctious mother of three. When asked about 31 Bits, Agness says “I can now see light because of what 31 Bits is doing… I am now making my own money and for the first time I have a voice!”
Some of Agness’ favorite things are farming, making beads, and taking tea. She also loves knitting and making clothes, and hopes to invest some of the money she has made from 31 Bits to buy a sewing machine.
Currently, Agness has started a community shop out of her home in which she sells small goods such as biscuits, soda, and candy. Because Agness lives in a remote village, her shop has been greatly appreciated and highly successful. She has recently found that renting speakers and playing music is a fun way to bring customers into her shop. Not to mention that she loves to sing and dance along!
Agness says that being able to provide for her family daily has given her hope for a bright and prosperous future. “I feel hopeful when I am independent and free to live well.”
